Our Adventure Begins

And so, after months of planning and preparation, I am sitting writing this in Heathrow Airport waiting to depart on our big trip to NZ and AUS!
Last weekend we had an amazing time celebrating our departure with family and friends in Leeds at our leaving party. It was strange saying goodbye to everyone knowing we won't see them all again for a whole year, but hopefully with this blog and our Instagram account @pumpkinsdownunder we can update everyone with our adventures and photos. And of course, in today's age, it's not difficult to message and video call. Despite the bittersweet farewells, any excuse to celebrate is good enough for us so we danced the night away with cork hats and an inflatable kangaroo, getting into our new way of life: holiday mode.
It has been a week since we packed in our jobs and started the unemployed life and, honestly? So far we love it. And that includes desperately trying to find new homes for a bed, a wardrobe and a sofa, so if we can enjoy that we are sure to enjoy everything that comes next. It was sad to move out of our beloved Pumpkin Patch flat in Leeds but we made many happy memories there and we're ready for pastures new – especially pastures as exciting as this.
So with our lives in Leeds all wrapped up, our suitcases crammed full, and our goodbyes said, we are officially ready to take off and get going. Follow along to see where our travels take us and hear all our stories. It will hopefully be a fun—if not potentially bumpy—ride!
